Sheffield Wednesday lost their Championship opener today.

Some Sheffield Wednesday fans on Twitter are tearing into Joost van Aken’s performance in this afternoon’s 3-2 defeat at Wigan Athletic.
The Owls got their new season off to a disappointing start as Jos Luhukay’s side went down away to the newly-promoted Latics.
Conceding three goals on gameweek one isn’t exactly promising for the season ahead and, naturally, Sheffield Wednesday defenders are coming under fire for their performances.
But none more than the Dutch centre-back.
The 24-year-old, who joined Wednesday from Heerenveen last summer, struggled and looked very shaky during his 60-minute stint, before being replaced by Lucas Joao.
Van Aken was also booked and Luhukay decided to haul him off after the hour mark.
Here is how some fans of the Hillsborough club have reacted to his performance:
Given he cost £4 million last summer, there is big pressure on Van Aken to have a brilliant second season after a mixed debut campaign with Sheffield Wednesday.
However, this was far from convincing and although he wasn’t the only culprit, he hardly stood out among the rest in a positive way.
Things need to get better – and fast – for Van Aken, but Wednesday supporters won’t be happy if this sets for the tone for another underwhelming campaign.
