Sheffield Wednesday will be without Fernando Forestieri until at least December after the Argentina-born forward was forced to undergo surgery.
Forestieri has finished as top scorer in each of his two full seasons at Hillsborough but has endured a turbulent start to the new campaign, starting only one of the Owls’ five Championship fixtures and sitting out two as a result of an internal suspension.

The former Watford player was strongly linked with a move away from Wednesday during the final week of the summer transfer window, with the Hornets and Fulham both credited with interest.
And while many Owls supporters are accepting of the news, with several wishing Forestieri a speedy recovery, some believe it is all a little coincidental, with his return scheduled in time for market reopening in January.

Forestieri has been in and out of Carlos Carvalhal’s side since March, owing to both injury and suspension, with Wednesday winning exactly half of the 14 Championship fixtures he’s failed to start in that time.
