Some Sheffield Wednesday fans were already urging their club to sign Moses Odubajo before The Star reported the Owls’ interest in the freed Brentford full-back.

Odubajo played 30 times for Brentford last season, having returned to Griffin Park following an injury-hit final two years at Hull City.

But his contract was not renewed, much to the dismay of many of a Bees persuasion.

And the following Sheffield Wednesday supporters would welcome the former England Under-20 international at Hillsborough, where he would reunite with his former Hull manager, Steve Bruce.

Sheffield Wednesday have already seen one of their full-backs, Achraf Lazaar, leave at the end of his loan spell, while another could follow if Liam Palmer fails to renew his contract.

Odubajo, who began life as a winger at Leyton Orient, can play on either side despite being predominantly right-footed.

The 25-year-old has played 117 times at Championship level, scoring or making 11 goals, and was promoted from the division with Bruce at Hull.
