The Rangers midfielder is said to want to quit Ibrox amid fears he won’t be pivotal to the plans of new boss Steven Gerrard.

Josh Windass of Rangers has a shot on goalduring the Pre-Seaso n Friendly between Rangers and Bury at Ibrox Stadium on July 6, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Reports of Rangers’ Josh Windass wanting to leave Ibrox has piqued the attention of some Sheffield United supporters.

The Daily Mail claims Windass is wanted by four English clubs – including two from the Premier League – amid fears he won’t be pivotal to the plans of Rangers’ new manager Steven Gerrard this season, although the name of Sheffield United isn’t mentioned.

The newspaper adds that a maximum fee of £3 million could be required to sign the attacking midfielder, who is expected to be dropped from Rangers’ team to play NK Osijek on Thursday.

And after selling David Brooks to Bournemouth for around three-and-a-half times that amount earlier this summer, it is a figure that Sheffield United should be able to afford as they search for the Welshman’s successor.
