Reported Southampton and Burnley target Joakim Maehle says he isn’t going to force a transfer away from Genk despite speculation over his future, HBVL report.
The talented fullback has been heavily linked with a move away from Genk.
In January, Maehle told Ekstra Bladet how Southampton made a move for him.

The latest reports from The Sun (7 June, page 61) claims Burnley are set to bid £10 million for the fullback as the Clarets seek a replacement for Phil Bardsley.
Speaking to reporters on his future, Maehle says he will not push for a transfer.
“Some say it’s my turn now. But I am still happy and proud to play at Genk. I can still learn a lot here, even without European football. I still have a lot to prove,” Maehle explained.
“In every transfer period they say I have to stay, that’s not new. But of course, you never know. Malinovskyi forced a transfer last year. I am calm by nature. I can easily put that off me.”
Maehle told Ekstra Bladet in April how he still feels he could join the Saints after their failed January bid as he seemingly has aspirations of playing in England one day.
Genk, meanwhile, aren’t afraid of cashing in on their talented players.
The Belgian club sold striker Mbwana Samatta to Aston Villa and midfielder Sander Berge to fellow Premier League side Sheffield United last January.
It remains to be seen whether the global health crisis will force them to sell again.
Maehle, 22, helped Genk win the Belgian title in 2018-19. He produced 14 goals and assists that campaign which saw the club qualify for the Champions League.
He could be a decent prospect for either Southampton or Burnley this summer.
