Gary Neville has taken to Twitter to react after Everton beat Manchester United at Goodison Park earlier today in a tense Premier League clash.

What’s the story?

Well, the Sky Sports pundit believes Sean Dyche will have upset Frank Lampard on Wednesday, after he claimed Everton don’t know “how to win” games.

The Toffees – and Lampard – reacted emphatically to those damning comments with a massive 1-0 win over the Red Devils, which gives them a bit of breathing room down the bottom.

Neville added that Manchester United were a “joke” on Merseyside.

You can see the 47-year-old’s tweet in full below.

As things stand, Everton are now four points above the relegation zone, although Burnley have a game in hand on the Toffees.

There is still a long way to go until Lampard guides Everton to safety, but today’s win was unspeakably significant.

In our view, Dyche is a fool for saying what he said – a manager of his experience should know better.

Now, all Lampard has to do is stick that quote up on the Goodison Park dressing room wall, and his team talk is done.

The last thing Burnley need right now is for Everton to gain added momentum and pick up a few wins, with just weeks remaining of the season.

Of course, Lampard and the players deserve credit for beating Manchester United, but they may not have had the motivation to do so if Dyche didn’t say what he said.
