The former Leeds United loanee was in action for Reading on Saturday.

Just days after having his Leeds United loan spell terminated early, Lewis Baker made his debut for new club Reading.

Baker played less than 500 minutes of football in five months at Leeds, prompting the midfielder’s parent club, Chelsea, to send him to Reading instead.

And according to several Royals fans on Twitter, he’s an instant hit at the Madejski Stadium, where he stepped off the bench with 23 minutes remaining of Saturday’s 2-0 win against Nottingham Forest.

This is what they’re saying on Twitter…

Baker’s departure has left Leeds increasingly short of bodies in the middle of the park, with the Whites having already allowed Samu Saiz to join Getafe on loan.

But Friday’s comfortable win against Derby County (also 2-0) suggests that Baker, specifically, is not being missed by Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

Leeds, who remain are now four points clear at the top of the Championship, travel to the 23-year-old’s new side in early March.

Reading fans keep warm as they await kick off the Sky Bet Championship match between Reading and Cardiff City at Madejski Stadium on December 11, 2017 in Reading, England.
