Glasgow Rangers goalkeeper Robby McCrorie was involved as the Gers won their first pre-season friendly in front of a packed Ibrox.
While most Rangers fans would have known that Ross McCrorie was one of the brightest prospects threatening to break through at Ibrox one year ago, few would have probably expected the youngster to prove so impressive during his first campaign in the senior side with his first-team debut still more than two months away.
This pre-season, it is his twin brother Robby who is perhaps threatening to establish himself as a potential star of the future. While his path to the first-team is significantly more congested than Ross’ was under Pedro Caixinha, there are signs that suggest that Steven Gerrard has extremely high hopes for the 20-year-old.
It was McCrorie who replaced Allan McGregor with just over 10 minutes to go during the Gers’ first pre-season friendly of the summer. A packed house at Ibrox saw Gerrard’s men run out 6-0 winners against Bury, with several of the academy prospects starring in the victory.
The young goalkeeper certainly did his situation no harm at all, and after the game, the starlet took to social media to comment on the occasion. Unsurprisingly, he needed just three words to sum up perfectly how he was feeling about getting a chance to impress in the emphatic victory this past week.

In response, McCrorie was lauded by a large number of Rangers fans on Twitter. Many of the supporters feel that the prospect is destined for an extremely bright future at Ibrox, and the Bury game was the first step towards realising his full potential.
Many fans made the prediction that he will be the Gers’ future number one if he continues to develop at his current rate, and there were some fans who pointed out that it may not be too long before the McCrorie twins are both integral parts of the Rangers first-team.
