Some Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to speculation linking the Ibrox club with Lawrence Shankland.

Rangers are interested in signing Shankland from Dundee United in the summer transfer window, according to The Daily Record.

It has been reported that the Gers have scouted the 24-year-old striker regularly.

Rangers are reportedly looking at the Scotland international among other strikers as a potential replacement for Alfredo Morelos, with the Colombia international having agreed personal terms with French outfit Lille.

If Morelos does leave Rangers this summer, then the Gers will need a replacement who can hit the ground running.

Shankland scored 24 goals and provided two assists in the Scottish Championship for Dundee United last season, while during the 2018-19 campaign, the 24-year-old scored 24 goals and provided five assists in the Scottish Championship for Ayr United, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.

Some Rangers fans have given their take on speculation regarding Shankland, and below are some of the best comments on Twitter.

Meanwhile, Rangers legend Ally McCoist has given his take on Romania international attacker Ianis Hagi, who made his loan deal from Genk permanent this summer, and former Manchester United and Scotland international star Darren Fletcher has had his say on Gers midfielder Joe Aribo.

McCoist said about Hagi on Sky Sports Football (11:41am, August 1, 2020): “Hagi clearly is quality, he is quality. If I was going to be brutally honest, I think he is probably half a yard short of being absolutely top class, and I think that’s probably how Rangers have got him.”

Fletcher about Aribo on Sky Sports Football (12:14pm, August 1, 2020): “Look at his size. He is a physical specimen. He is great on the ball, predominantly left-footed. He makes things happen in midfield for Rangers.”
