Some Glasgow Rangers fans were delighted to see Billy Gilmour’s display one year after his departure from Ibrox.

A number of Rangers fans took to Twitter to express their delight after watching Billy Gilmour put in a superb performance to help Scotland’s under-21 side claim a 3-1 victory.
Former Gers youngster Gilmour only made his debut at that level earlier this summer during the successful Toulon Tournament campaign which saw the Scots finish fourth and the 17-year-old named as the Revelation of the Tournament.
He kept his place for the European Championship qualifier with Andorra on Thursday night, and he justified the selection. It was his cross that led to the foul that allowed the home to break the deadlock from the penalty spot.
And in one of the moments of the game, Gilmour again showcased how dangerous he can be with an absolutely sumptuous ball into the box that just seemed to skim over everyone’s head until it found its way to Fraser Hornby. The Everton striker would bag his second of the game on the way to a hat-trick.

It was another incredibly encouraging display from Gilmour, who continues to prove that he is deserving of the reputation for being one of the most exciting talents anywhere in Europe.
And given that his career started with Rangers, a number of the Ibrox faithful took to social media to express their pride in seeing him do so well – while there was also a comment from one fan suggesting that he is hoping the Gers included a sell-on clause in the deal that saw the teenager move to Stamford Bridge last year.
