The Ibrox striker got the news this week after impressive Rangers form.

Some Rangers fans have been left delighted after Alfredo Morelos was called up to the Colombian national team for matches later this month.

The 23-year-old’s team are due to play Algeria and Chile.

Morelos is part of a six-striker lineup in Carlos Queiroz’s squad, alongside stars such as Luis Diaz of Porto and Duvan Zapata of Atalanta.

It comes after sensational form for the Gers at the start of the season. He’s scored 13 goals and assisted four more in 17 appearances this term.

He looks well on the way towards equalling or bettering last year’s tally of 30 goals in all competitions.

It’s big news for the striker since he’s missed out recent squads. He was looked over completely for the Copa America in the summer and hasn’t won a cap since March.

After a strong performance against Feyenoord last week, he’ll now be hoping he can further impress tomorrow against Young Boys in Switzerland.

For Rangers fans it’s a well deserved accolade, with plenty feeling there are not many players performing better in Scotland right now.
