Glasgow Rangers have signed eight players this summer, with Lassana Coulibaly becoming the latest to arrive through the Ibrox door.

Lassana Coulibaly of Mali is challenged by Ryota Morioka of Japan during the International friendly match between Japan and Mali at the Stade de Sclessin on March 23, 2018 in Liege Belgium.

A number of Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to comment after the club confirmed on their official website earlier today that the Gers have signed Lassana Coulibaly on a season-long loan deal.

Steven Gerrard has been extremely busy during the first few weeks of his Ibrox tenure. The Gers went into this week with seven signings already through the door, and they have now announced number eight.

Coulibaly has arrived for the coming campaign on loan from Angers, and the 22-year-old will be hoping that he can help the Gers put a title challenge together while he is in Scotland after two underwhelming attempts to catch their rivals.

The youngster will not have been a household name before his arrival, but his move has certainly pleased a lot of Rangers fans on social media, with many feeling that the loan deal is a very shrewd move from Gerrard and Mark Allen.

Coulibaly is capable of playing in the middle of the park or in a slightly deeper role just in front of the defence and he will be hoping to prove that Gerrard’s faith is not misplaced.

There is some concern about a deal – perhaps due to the club’s recent record under previous managers when it has come to recruiting largely unproven talents – but the general consensus appears to be that it is an exciting move for the Gers and provides another indication that they are putting together a very impressive squad.
