Glasgow Rangers have now brought nine players to Ibrox this summer, with Umar Sadiq joining on loan.

A number of Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to comment on the news that the club have confirmed that Umar Sadiq has joined the Gers on a season-long loan deal this summer.

Steven Gerrard has had no problem overseeing a large number of changes since being appointed by the Scottish Premiership side. Rangers had seven signings through the door before Tuesday, but subsequently confirmed that Lassana Coulibaly has joined on a season-long loan and have since announced that Sadiq has arrived from Roma on similar terms.

It will be a relief for the Ibrox faithful to see the 21-year-old arrive. While there have been a large number of additions, Sadiq is the first signing set to provide Alfredo Morelos with some competition.

The youngster is a somewhat unproven talent, but his arrival has received a lot of support from the Rangers fans on social media.

Sadiq’s record suggests that he boasts a lot of potential – he enjoyed a promising spell with NAC Breda in the Eredivisie last season – and the Gers supporters are optimistic that he could start realising that potential during the coming year.

There has been some criticism for the fact that Sadiq has become the club’s third loan signing this summer, but the majority of the Ibrox faithful believe that this could prove to be an excellent, low-risk deal for the Gers.
