Former Rangers star Paul Gascoigne received a huge reception on his return to Ibrox on Sunday, taking to the pitch at half-time.

The 90s icon was a special guest of the club over the weekend, also visiting the Hummel Training Centre to meet up with the current squad and Steven Gerrard.

Attending the 5-0 thrashing of Hamilton yesterday, Gazza would take to the pitch to a standing ovation from fans who loved his playing exploits during the nine-in-a-row years at Ibrox.

He signed for Rangers in 1995, staying for three years. During that time he amassed 104 appearances and scored 39 goals.

He is regarded as one of the best footballers to play in Scotland over the last few decades.

Although having his fair share of personal problems in recent years, he looked in good health on Sunday and full of joy to take in the adulation of supporters.

The club would later post a video on social media, showing off the atmosphere his brief appearance created.

For fans in attendance checking out later and for those who couldn’t make the game, the footage went down a treat, with thousands interacting with the post.
