The Ibrox midfielder has committed his long-term future to Rangers
Jack signed his last contract at the club less than a year ago, but improved form has ensured he’s become an increasingly important part of Steven Gerrard’s plans.
Injury issues aside he’s had a fine season and is set to return to the team imminently having taken part in training this week.
A clearly passionate Rangers star, there are now even calls from some supporters to make him club captain. That’s how popular he is amongst fans right now.
James Tavernier is struggling for form and some feel that the Englishman is not leadership material in the regular starting eleven.
The Ibrox boss changing his captain mid-season seems unlikely, but there is a strength of feeling growing that Jack is the right man to wear the armband should Tavernier drop out of the team.
Now 27 years of age, Jack’s new deal takes him into his 30s. It looks like he’ll be spending the best years of his career at Rangers.
As quoted by rangers.co.uk, the midfielder said of the contract: “I’m delighted to commit my future to Rangers, and the club have shown great ambition to get me re-signed on a new deal.
“I’m over the moon and I’m looking forward to the future now. With the length of contract the club has given me, I hope to repay that in the next three-and-a-half years.”

Fans are similarly pleased to hear of the extension, taking to Twitter to share their thoughts on it all this evening…
