Candeias was left on the Rangers bench last time out against Osijek.

Steven Gerrard will have a number of selection headaches to contend with as he looks to pick Rangers’ best side to face Croatian outfit NK Osijek on Thursday night – and some fans want Daniel Candeias recalled.
Rangers hold a 1-0 first-leg advantage against Osijek, after Alfredo Morelos’ priceless goal gave the Gers the lead at the halfway point of their second round of Europa League qualifying clash.
The Gers are favourites to book their place in the third round, where they will face Slovenians Maribor or Georgian minnows Chikhura Sachkhere. That is all to play for, with the first leg finishing 0-0 in Georgia.
Gerrard opted with Jamie Murphy and new signing Ryan Kent on the flanks last Thursday, and decided to bring Glenn Middleton and Josh Windass on from the bench – leaving last season’s Player of the Year Candeias on the bench.

The 30-year-old did start both clashes against FK Shkupi in the first round, but the signing of Kent and the form of teenager Middleton has left his place in the side under threat.
But with a lead to protect, some Rangers fans believe his hard-working style of play should see him get the nod at Ibrox on Thursday night. One fan Tweeted: “I’d like to see Candeias start on right to support Tav [James Tavernier].
