Rangers have been drawn against Hearts in the semi-final of the Scottish League Cup after progressing past Livingston on Wednesday night.

A hard fought 1-0 victory ensured that Steven Gerrard’s trophy hunt continues.

The Ibrox boss clearly sees the competition as a big priority, having named a very strong side to get the job done at Almondvale, rather than rest key players for tougher tests to come.

The Gers will now face off against Craig Levein’s side at Hampden on the weekend of 2/3 November, with the exact fixture details yet to be determined.

It’s the second time Gerrard has guided his team to this stage of the competition, last year getting beat by Aberdeen in a difficult encounter at the national stadium.

With the prize of a final against Celtic or Hibs on offer, Rangers will fancy their chances of taking one step further this season.

The Ibrox outfit have only lost a single match this season so far, winning 14 of their 17 games. Nobody in Scotland, apart from Celtic, has managed to lay a finger on them.

Some Rangers fans are certainly confident about the Hearts test, feeling that the winning form of the Gers right now should be enough to see them progress past their capital city foes.
