QPR agreed to a £42 million settlement with the English Football League on Friday for breaching Financial Fair Play rules, and will also serve a transfer ban for January 2019

Queens Park Rangers agreed to a £42 million settlement with the English Football League on Friday, after they breached the Financial Fair Play rules during the 2013/14 campaign.

The west Londoner’s put the ongoing dispute to bed and will also serve a transfer embargo for January 2019, leaving Steve McClaren’s side at a disadvantage during the midway point of the season.

QPR have been quiet so far this summer on the transfer front, and McClaren will need to spend any money available wisely – every new signing will really count this time.

Failure to get it right could see QPR suffer a long season. From the fans perspective, new signings are an absolute given. However, Friday’s news has provided some relief to an extent as now the club can concentrate on moving forward.
