Geoff Cameron scored his first QPR goal, as the R’s came from behind to earn a point in a 1-1 draw at home to Derby County
Queens Park Rangers picked up their second draw of the season after being held 1-1 by Derby County at Loftus Road on Saturday.
Jack Marriot had given the Rams the lead in the first-half, scoring his first league goal for the club when he fired in after QPR failed to deal with a long ball over the top.
Steve McClaren’s side got back on level terms just three minutes into the second-half, when Geoff Cameron tapped home from a Nahki Wells’ cross. The R’s created enough good chances throughout the game, with Wells hitting the bar and Toni Leistner blasting over late-on, but a point was a fair outcome.
Frank Lampard’s Derby side looked strong in spells and, on another day, would maybe have snatched all three points. QPR fans would have been happy with the application of the players, and the tempo the game, despite falling a goal behind.
The R’s faithful turned to Twitter to express their happiness with a draw, and many were delighted to see Cameron score his first for the club.
QPR head into the international break on 14 points from their opening 12 Championship games, leaving them five points above the relegation zone.
