The Preston North End manager has been strongly linked with the West Bromwich Albion vacancy.

Some Preston North End fans fear Alex Neil’s departure to West Bromwich Albion could be accelerated after back-to-back Championship defeats effectively ended the Lilywhites’ play-off ambitions.
Neil has been strongly linked with the West Brom vacancy but always looked unlikely to leave as Preston hunted down a top-six finish.
But the Lancashire side are now six points adrift with 15 left to play for and at least four teams closer than they are, depending on the outcome of Wednesday night’s fixtures.
And with West Brom having also lost two in a row in April, there are suggestions the Baggies could now seek an immediate appointment having initially been ready to wait until the summer to hire Darren Moore’s permanent successor.
In the space of 24 hours, odds have shortened significantly on Neil swapping Deepdale for The Hawthorns.
And this is what those of a Preston persuasion are saying on Twitter about the man who has defied pre-season expectations to oversee a play-off push in each of his two seasons in charge…
James Shan remains in caretaker charge of West Brom, who host Neil’s Preston on Saturday afternoon.

Will Neil be the next West Bromwich Albion manager?
