Speaking on his YouTube channel, Ben Foster has been discussing Jordan Henderson and his role in this England Team.
The Liverpool captain started for the Three Lions against Wales on Tuesday evening, and it’s fair to say that his inclusion in the starting XI wasn’t welcomed by many supporters.
Indeed, fans around the country argued that Henderson shouldn’t be starting, but Foster says that many are wrong about the Liverpool star.
Foster says that he’d start Henderson in his midfield due to the fact that he’s such a leader on the pitch and that he organises the rest of the team.

Henderson has to start
Foster spoke about Henderson.
“When Jordan Henderson starts, some people think ‘oh, bloody hell Jordan Henderson?’. I am not joking lads I would rather have him starting ahead of most players in that midfield. I am not joking.
“On the pitch Jordan Henderson is the main man. He’s the one who is pointing and shouting and getting everyone going.”
Vital
Henderson may not be the most important player in the England squad, but he brings something that nobody else does on the pitch when he plays.
He’s a true on-field leader, and you need that type of player in your team, especially when you’re fielding such a young squad.
With all due respect, the likes of Phil Foden, Bukayo Saka, Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice all need guidance at certain points due to their inexperience, and Henderson is the man who has been there and done it all.
Yes, Harry Kane and Harry Maguire are leaders in their own right, but neither of them know what it takes to truly be winners, that’s where Henderson thrives having led Liverpool to every trophy possible over the past few years.
