Joe Lolley has been Nottingham Forest’s third-best-performing player this season, statistically.

With three goals and an assist to his name this Championship campaign, Joe Lolley is Nottingham Forest’s third-best-performing player on Whoscored.com.
Only Samba Sow and Matty Cash boast higher average ratings than the winger, who was Forest’s standout player last season, according to the same website.
It is just four games ago that Lolley made his most recent direct goal contribution – scoring in the 1-1 draw at Blackburn days after doing likewise in the 3-2 win at Stoke.
But the above context means little to some of a Nottingham Forest persuasion, who after Wednesday’s home defeat to Hull are calling for Lolley to be dropped for Saturday’s visit of Reading.
This is what they are saying about the 27-year-old on Twitter…
Lolley, a £500,000 signing from Huddersfield Town in January 2018, scored or made 22 goals for Nottingham Forest in the Championship last season, when he was one of just a handful of stars in a struggling Reds team.
That form saw the Redditch-born player linked with moves to Premier League clubs such as Aston Villa – the one he supported as a boy – for a reported fee of £15 million.
