A number of Nottingham Forest fans were hugely impressed by Gil Dias and his goal in their latest pre-season win.
A number of Nottingham Forest fans have been reacting on Twitter after watching Gil Dias’ performance and stunning goal during their pre-season win over Malaga – and it seems safe to say that the supporters are extremely excited about seeing the 21-year-old in action when the new Championship campaign begins.
Aitor Karanka’s men have really captured the imagination during the opening weeks of the transfer window. They have put the majority of their second tier rivals to shame with the amount of business that they have done, and it would be little surprise if many were tipping them for promotion to the Premier League.
And it appears to be falling into place for the City Ground outfit as they thrashed Malaga 3-0 in Spain on Monday, with Dias, Ben Osborn and Hillal Soudani all getting onto the scoresheet against the side that were playing La Liga football as recently as last season.
Both Dias and Osborn scored superb goals in the victory, but Dias’ effort certainly caught the eye of the Forest fans on social media. The winger picked the ball up in the centre circle before driving past a number of Malaga defenders and sliding the ball into the back of the net.
Karanka will not be getting carried away by what he has seen in pre-season, but Dias’ strike will certainly leave him and the Forest supporters feeling extremely excited heading into the new campaign as the Portuguese appears to boast the trickery and turn of pace that will cause defenders all sorts of problems next season.
And after the victory, a number of fans took to social media to laud the summer signing for his performance in the emphatic win and the goal that stole the show.
