Blackburn Rovers fans on Twitter are excited at the prospect of signing Leeds United defender Barry Douglas before Friday’s Deadline Day.

The Telegraph report that the Championship side are in talks to sign the out-of-favour Leeds man, who has struggled with injuries during his time at Elland Road.

Rovers fans have more than welcomed the idea of signing the experienced Scotsman, who has won two promotions to the promised land during the last few seasons.

That would be music to the ears of Blackburn fans because they have started the season in a strong fashion with seven points from four games and they currently occupy a play-off spot.

There’s no doubting Douglas’ ability because he has a sweet left-foot and his crosses from open play can be a nightmare to deal with.

Plus, he can be lethal from set-piece situations, and in a Tony Mowbray team, it is pretty obvious that the dead-ball specialist ensures his team make the best of those situations.

There’s not long remaining before Friday’s domestic window slams shut and it will be interesting to see if Douglas departs because those at Ewood Park would welcome him to the club.
