Newcastle have sold Ivan Toney.

Newcastle United have given up on striker Ivan Toney and decided to sell him to Peterborough United.
Peterborough announced his transfer earlier this morning, with manager Steve Evans declaring him his top target, speaking to the club’s official website.
Toney was signed for Newcastle in 2015 from Northampton but has spent more time away from the club than with the Premier League side.

Toney has been sent out on various loan spells, playing for Barnsley, Shrewsbury, Wigan and Scunthorpe, sometimes in multiple spells.
This time it is a permanent exit, with Toney penning a three year deal with Peterborough.
Teammate DeAndre Yedlin was quick to wish him well.
Toney featured for Newcastle in pre-season, scoring more than once, but it was not enough to convince Rafa Benitez to give him a chance.
The 22-year-old needed a fresh start, and he now has his chance.
