Some Newcastle United fans on social media have been reacting to the news that Nuno Espirito Santo has been sacked by Tottenham.
Nuno barely lasted four months at Spurs. The ex-Wolves man started brightly, winning his first three league games, but he’s managed to get notch up just two further victories since that opening flurry, losing five Premier League games during that period.
Nuno has been relieved of his duties, and as you can imagine, the news of a new manager coming onto the market has made Newcastle supporters sit up and take notice.
While Nuno was a failure at Spurs, Magpies fans believe that he could be a real asset if the St James’ Park club take a punt on him.
To be fair, we can absolutely see where they’re coming from. Nuno, for his faults, isn’t a bad manager at all. After all, he got Wolves to seventh in the Premier League on two separate occasions.
The 47-year-old’s counter-attacking style would certainly be suited to Newcastle – who, with all due respect, don’t have the talent needed to play on the front foot in every game.
