Newcastle United are reportedly considering a potential move for Harry Arter this summer.
A number of Newcastle fans have taken to Twitter to comment on the reports emerging from The Sun this week which suggested that the Magpies were amongst a group of clubs interested in signing Bournemouth midfielder Harry Arter.
It has been a frustrating summer for Rafa Benitez. The Spaniard has made a number of signings, but the net spend looks set to be dwarfed by many of the other sides in the Premier League, including the Cherries who have just smashed their transfer record to complete a deal for Jefferson Lerma.
Lerma’s arrival paves the way for Arter to potentially leave the club after a campaign which saw the Republic of Ireland international struggle for game-time at the Vitality Stadium.
The news that Newcastle reportedly want Arter has divided supporters. There are plenty who believe that the midfielder could prove to be a decent signing for Benitez’s side as they look for greater depth in the middle of the park.
However, there are many members of the Toon Army who feel that he would be a very underwhelming acquisition, and the clubs that Newcastle are battling with for his signature highlight that fact in several fans’ eyes.
