Newcastle United beat Leicester City 1-0 on Friday night.

Newcastle United inched another step closer to Premier League survival on Friday night, beating Leicester City 1-0 at the King Power Stadium.
The Magpies travelled down to Leicester knowing that the Foxes had been in great form under new boss Brendan Rodgers, winning four games in a row under the Northern Irishman.
Leicester were subsequently hot favourites for the game, especially after Newcastle lost at home to Crystal Palace last weekend, but the Magpies produced a superb display.
Salomon Rondon rattled the woodwork for Newcastle before Ayoze Perez did find the net, heading home Matt Ritchie’s cross with a fine run across the front post – and that proved to be the winner.
Newcastle were solid and resolute, battling for every ball as they claimed all three points and a clean sheet, meaning they are now all but safe in the Premier League for another year.
It was another game without a goal for playmaker Miguel Almiron though, as the Paraguayan made it nine games in black and white without a goal since his January move from Atlanta United.

The 25-year-old has still looked bright, but is clearly desperate for that first goal for the club, leading to a mixed response from fans on Twitter after Friday’s display.
Some were critical of Almiron, feeling that he was trying too hard and simply isn’t good enough as a club-record signing, with some even comparing him unfavourably to Jacob Murphy.
Others felt Almiron was ‘sensational’ and ‘amazing’, or even if he isn’t quite at his best right now as he settles into life in the Premier League, he will be a real force next season.
