Sheffield Wednesday have reported Newcastle to the FA, the club confirmed via a statement on their official website.
Wednesday’s complaint is centred around Newcastle’s conduct in pursuit of their manager and his backroom team.
Bruce forced the issue by resigning from his post, and was later appointed by Newcastle.
The veteran manager took over as Sheffield Wednesday boss in February, months after he was sacked by Aston Villa.
Bruce claims to have been a boyhood Newcastle fan and was desperate to land his dream job.
His appointment was received with disappointment by Newcastle supporters, having just seen Champions League winning boss Rafa Benitez resign.
