Some Newcastle United fans on Twitter aren’t reacting well to a rumour about bringing Luka Jovic to St James’s Park.
Shields Gazette have reported that the Magpies are keen on signing the out-of-favour Real Madrid hitman.
Jovic only joined the Spanish giants last summer in a £55 million deal but it hasn’t been a great first season for the Serbian marksman in Madrid.
And now Newcastle’s scouting department are taking a serious look at him, it’s been reported.
The only development United fans want to hear about is about the £300 million takeover that the Premier League is still mulling.
They’ve had their fill of transfer-related stories – many of whom high-profile players – but Newcastle supporters have slammed this speculation and questioned its credibility while the ownership situation still looks unclear.

They’re probably right to be unhappy. They’ve seen links to the likes of Gareth Bale, Philippe Coutinho and Edinson Cavani pass without much substance and any more links to high-profile players is completely pointless without clarification on whether Saudi Public Investment Fund will be in place or not.
