
It’s fair to say that former Rangers goalkeeper Wes Foderingham left a huge club this summer.
The Gers released the English stopper after five years of service at Ibrox – and for three of those, he was their first-choice option between the sticks.
But since Rangers signed Allan McGregor, Foderingham has been on the fringes of things in Glasgow and Steven Gerrard released him last month.
You could be forgiven for thinking the 29-year-old would get a lesser move, having barely featured in the Premiership over the past two years, but you’d be wrong.
That’s because Foderingham has just been snapped up by Premier League heroes Sheffield United on a Bosman.
The Blades are the surprise package following their promotion from the Championship last season, as Chris Wilder’s side sit eighth in the table – one point beind Spurs and one point ahead of Arsenal.
This is a truly brilliant move for Foderingham – who helped the light Blues to Premiership promotion in 2016 – and some Rangers fans on Twitter are acknowledging as much.
