Middlesbrough have signed Andy Lonergan, to a mixed reaction.

Middlesbrough fans have had a mixed reaction to the club signing free agent Andy Lonergan.
Lonergan was released by Leeds United last month after an unsuccessful year at Elland Road.
He failed to dislodge error prone Felix Wiedwald, making a mistake himself when given the opportunity, and saw youngster Bailey Peacock-Farrell overtake him in the pecking order.
Lonergan signs for Middlesbrough to play a back-up role, with Darren Randolph the club’s number one.
Middlesbrough have had a quiet transfer window so far, and days earlier sold forward Patrick Bamford to Leeds United.

Getting Lonergan will have caused more amusement than worry amid Leeds fans even though there is no ill feeling personally towards the veteran goalkeeper.
Middlesbrough fans now want the club to make the most of the remainder of the transfer window and add one or two exciting attacking players.
Aiden Flint was a terrific defensive signing, but Lonergan has not done much to get fans excited, in some cases quite the opposite.
Here is a look at the reaction…
