Belgian side R.S.C. Anderlecht are reportedly keen on signing Liam Delap on loan for next season.

According to Walfoot, Vincent Kompany’s side are keen on taking the Manchester City prospect for the year following the departure of Lukas Nmecha.

The German youth star was Anderlecht’s Player of the Season. And following his return from Belgium, City sold Nmecha to Wolfsburg.

Indeed, Delap would be a good option for Anderlecht this summer and a good replacement for Nmecha based on his form from last season.

The striker hit a stunning 30 goals in all competitions, including a striker in his debut for City’s first team.

Moreover, the attacker is one of the most exciting talents coming out of the City academy. However, on social media, fans are eager for Delap to stay with the club this summer and not move to Anderlecht.

With Sergio Aguero now an FC Barcelona player, City’s only first-team striker is Gabriel Jesus.

And with a move for Harry Kane seemingly stalling, Pep Guaridola’s side are looking bare up top. The reigning Premier League champions are one of the few sides in the English top-flight to not make a signing this summer.

Indeed, with Delap looking like a real prospect, fans are keen for the youngster to have a chance next season.

Here’s what some City fans had to say on Twitter about Anderlecht being eager on signing Delap on loan…
