Some Liverpool fans on Twitter have been calling for 17-year-old Harvey Elliott to get a chance in the first-team next season.

The teenager may be just 17 years old, but he’s been touted as the next big thing in English football for quite some time now, breaking the record for the youngest player to ever appear in the Premier League over 18 months ago now.

This season he’s spending the season out on loan at Blackburn Rovers, and despite being so young, he is more than holding his own in the Championship, earning a number of plaudits from Rovers supporters.

He’s provided two goals and four assists in 11 appearances so far this term, and these impressive stats have certainly caught the eye of some Liverpool supporters.

Indeed, fans on Twitter have been calling for him to get more of a chance next season, with many asking for him to become take one of Divock Origi, Takumi Minamino or Xherdan Shaqiri’s places as a backup to one of the Reds’ attackers.

If Elliott keeps up his good form his chance will certainly come along at one point, but with potentially two decades of his career still ahead of him, it remains to be seen whether or not his Anfield opportunity will come sooner rather than later.

Here’s what Liverpool fans have been saying about Elliott on social media.
