Some Liverpool fans on Twitter are reacting to a photo of Ibrahima Konate in training.
Jurgen Klopp brought his side to Austria for a pre-season training camp before the 2021-22 campaign a little earlier this week.
And Liverpool fans have been treated to a first sight of their first summer signing.
The Reds splurged £36 million on bringing Konate in from Red Bull Leipzig in May – and one photo of the big man in training has surprised some supporters.
Konate is photographed looking bigger than Nat Phillips – who stands at 6’4 – and here’s how some Liverpool fans reacted on Twitter:
Being big is one thing but, as one supporter pointed out, Konate is also bullet fast.
The 22-year-old could be considered a young version of Virgil van Dijk, who himself is no slouch and it’ll be fascinating to see how the duo play alongside one another.
But first, Konate will have to earn his spot in Klopp’s XI.
As it stands, Van Dijk and Joe Gomez are probably the German’s best centre-back partnership and the onus is on the new boy to prove that isn’t the case.
