Some Liverpool fans on Instagram have responded to Adam Lallana’s heartfelt message.

The 32-year-old attacker returned to Anfield and left with three points last night as Brighton secured a shock 1-0 victory away to the Premier League champions.

Lallana, who was released by Liverpool last summer, had a 25-minute cameo toward the end.

The former Southampton player left Merseyside on good terms and Jurgen Klopp spoke glowingly about him in his programme notes.

It seems like the feeling is mutual after Lallana described his former club as a ‘class act’.

Here’s how some Liverpool fans responded on social media:

selorm.a17: Wish we could give you a warm welcome when fans are back thanks for that Adam

adamlallanafan20: miss you so much at Liverpool Adam! Your team played so well last night too was so good to see you back at anfield! Until we’re against each other again

The England international has been in and out of Graham Potter’s first XI so far this season.

He has featured in 16 of the Seagulls’ Premier League games, but only made the starting lineup on 10 occasions.

This is Albion’s second big scalp in succession after also enjoying a 1-0 victory at home to Tottenham Hotspur this past weekend.
