Some Liverpool fans are reacting on Twitter to Timo Werner’s latest performance for Chelsea.
The former Leipzig striker was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League champions this past summer, but wound up joining the Blues after Liverpool failed to budge on his £53 million valuation.
And it’s early days, but so far it’s looking like the Reds were right to be reluctant.
Werner has scored four goals in 11 Premier League appearances this season and somehow failed to add to his tally last night.
Chelsea beat Leeds 3-1 at Stamford Bridge but the Germany international is guilty of one of the worst misses of the whole season when he failed to convert an open goal, despite two bites of the cherry.
You can’t judge him on that, of course, but some Liverpool fans are delighted that they didn’t pull the trigger and bring him to Merseyside nonetheless.
