It’s only been a few weeks but Rhian Brewster is yet to make Liverpool regret their decision to sell him.

The Reds offloaded the 20-year-old in a £23 million deal to Sheffield United last month.

Brewster had never made a Premier League appearance for Liverpool but 11 goals for Championship side Swansea City last term reiterated his promise as a rising star of English football.

So far, though, it’s been a difficult start to life in the big time for the young marksman.

The Liverpool academy player is yet to find the net in any of his four games for the Blades – including one against Jurgen Klopp’s side – and only managed nine touches in 62 minutes of Saturday’s defeat by Chelsea.

The clash at Stamford Bridge sort of passed him by, as it did at Anfield last week.

And some fans of the Premier League club believe that Director of Football Michael Edwards pulled off an absolute bargain.

Here’s how they reacted to his performance against the Blues on Twitter yesterday:

It’s worth noting that two of his three starts for United have come away to Liverpool and Chelsea, so failing to score in either isn’t really a fair reflection.

There are other Premier League teams who Brewster could and probably will have a field day against and it’ll be fascinating to see how he fares from here on in.
