They have had to be patient, but it looks like Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita may have been worth the wait.
The 23-year-old joined up with Liverpool this summer after officially signing for the Premier League giants last August.
Keita cost the Reds around £53 million [Liverpool Echo] but if his pre-season performances are anything to go by then it’s a sound investment by manager Jurgen Klopp.
The Anfield outfit concluded their pre-season preparations by thumping Napoli 5-0 in a friendly in Ireland earlier tonight.
The Mali international was quiet at times, but he also exploded into life on several occasions and offered a glimpse into what he may produce in competitive outings this season.
And suffice to say that some Liverpool fans are already loving what they have seen from the powerful midfielder, who came off after 70 minutes.
Keita, who earns £120,000 per week according to Total Sportek, could be a different animal for Klopp’s boys this season and it will be fascinating to see how he does in the Premier League and Champions League.
Liverpool kick off their 2018-19 campaign by hosting West Ham United on Merseyside next Sunday.
