Some Liverpool fans have reacted on Twitter to Moses Simon’s revelation this week.
The 23-year-old winger confirmed to AOI Football that Liverpool had held an interest in signing him this summer.
The Liverpool Echo reported back in June that a £10 million deal was in the offing for the Gent attacker.
The Reds need a wide-sided player this summer but much of the rumours are centering around Xherdan Shaqiri at the moment, so time will tell whether manager Jurgen Klopp pursues Simon.

Simon has bags of pace and he would undoubtledy cause problems for Premier League defenders, if he were to arrive at Anfield this summer.
The Nigeria international, who also has 20 caps for his country, clearly knows where the goal is too, having scored 21 times in 108 league appearances for the Belgian side.
Liverpool manager Klopp already has two jet-heeled wingers in the form of Sadio Mane and Mo Salah, but another one certainly wouldn’t hurt as the Reds look to mount an assault on the Premier League title next term.
Simon wouldn’t play every single week, but first XIs don’t win Premier League crown – squads do, and the arrival of the Gent man would improve Klopp’s squad.
