Liverpool will reportedly hand Harry Wilson a new contract.

Liverpool winger Harry Wilson has been the subject of speculation this summer, with Leeds United, Celtic and Rangers all reported to be interested in the 21-year-old.

Steven Gerrard’s Rangers and their bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic want to sign Wilson on a season-long loan deal from Liverpool in the summer transfer window, according to talkSPORT.

Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic actually made a loan bid for the Wales international this past weekend, according to The Liverpool Echo, but the Reds reportedly turned it down.

The Scottish Sun has credited Leeds, Aston Villa and Huddersfield Town with interest in the youngster, who spent the second half of last season at Hull City in the Championship.

With competition for places in the Liverpool first team fierce, Wilson is going to find it hard to play regularly for the Reds.

The Wales international winger, though, has told The Liverpool Echo that he wants to establish himself in Jurgen Klopp’s first team.

Wilson told The Liverpool Echo: “The dream of mine is to play regularly for Liverpool’s first team.

“At the moment I am getting the chance to train at Melwood and get minutes in the friendlies and my aim is to impress the manager and stay here. If that’s not possible then we will weigh up the options and go from there.”

According to The Liverpool Echo, Liverpool will hand Wilson a new contract with improved terms, and some fans of the Merseyside side are pleased, as shown in the following posts on social networking site Twitter.
