Some Liverpool fans demand Klopp to start rarely-trusted Edwards signing today

With the day that’s in it, Liverpool fans on Twitter are telling Jurgen Klopp to give Takumi Minamino a rare start this afternoon.

Liverpool round off their Premier League season with a visit to Newcastle United.

With nothing left to play for after winning the title, and no records to break, Klopp’s side have nothing to play for except professional pride.

The Reds’ director of football Michael Edwards brought the Japan international to Anfield in January but it hasn’t been a brilliant transition to English football just yet.

So far, the former Salzburg attacker has started just the one Premier League game and Klopp doesn’t appear to trust him that much, giving him 46 minutes of football in Liverpool’s last eight matches.

But with nothing at stake today, the German manager could field an under-strength XI away to the Magpies.

And fans of the Merseyside club are hoping that Minamino is given a proper chance to make an impression.
