The Liverpool midfielder is being well supported for a Premier League start on Friday night.
Liverpool are putting the finishing touches to their preparations for tomorrow night’s match at home to Norwich City.
The Reds kick off their English Premier League campaign at Anfield and three points against the recently promoted side will be the big aim.
Their pre-season has been a mixed bag of performances and results. That, coupled with their lack of significant signings, has caused some hesitation amongst supporters in advance of the new season.
Still, they are the reigning European champions and came so close to title glory last season. They’re going to be fancied as big contenders in every competition they enter.
How Klopp lines up his first league eleven of the season is unknown but some Liverpool fans are certain of wanting one man in particular to start – Naby Keita.
The 24-year-old had a frustrating first season at Anfield after arriving last summer. Fitness issues halted his progress and he didn’t quite display the swashbuckling, goalscoring potential that defined his time in Germany and Austria.
Klopp though is hopeful he can have a big season, telling liverpoolfc.com: “He looks completely different, this pre-season looks completely different.
“He was now only the last two weeks in but you could see already that he’s much more settled in the team: completely different body language and everything is different.
“We expect a lot and he expects a lot and rightly so.”
