Some Liverpool fans on Twitter believe that the time has come for Jurgen Klopp to give Ben Davies his debut for the club.
The Reds signed Davies from Preston North End in a £2 million deal during the January transfer window, due to their defensive crisis.
But bizarrely, Liverpool’s injury problems have got even worse since then.
Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez have been out of action since October and Joel Matip’s season-ending ailment last month meant that Klopp and Michael Edwards simply had to enter the market.
Fabinho and Jordan Henderson had been playing in central defence when Davies and Ozan Kabak were signed, but both midfielders are now injured – Henderson, in particular, will miss around six games after undergoing groin surgery this week.
Klopp’s side are away to Sheffield United tonight and with options tight, and Kabak having a shocker in the defeat by Everton last week, Liverpool fans believe that it’s time Davies partners Nat Phillips in central defence against the Blades.
