Liverpool have sold goalkeeper Danny Ward to Leicester City – and fans are worried the club has let the wrong man go.

Ward is seen as a dependable goalkeeper and unlike Loris Karius, is not being haunted by recent failures.

Letting Ward go means Liverpool are more likely to stick with error prone Karius, and this is not a scenario which is being received well.

Karius struggled in last night’s friendly against Borussia Dortmund, and the arrival of new signing Alisson cannot come soon enough.

Loris Karius of Liverpool breaks down in tears after defeat in the UEFA Champions League final between Real Madrid and Liverpool on May 26, 2018 in Kiev, Ukraine.

Even though Karius will only be back-up, several Liverpool fans are of the opinion that he should move on completely, for his own good and the club’s.

Getting a fee of £10 million plus for Ward was perhaps an offer which Liverpool felt was too good to turn down, but it could be a potential error too.

While Simon Mignolet is another candidate to be Alisson’s back-up, he has expressed his strong desire to go and play first team football instead of being a bench player.

Ward could have taken being number two as a promotion after being third choice last season.

Liverpool fans are already worried they should not have let him go…
