Liverpool kicked off their pre-season preparations with a dominant display against Stuttgart on Saturday.

The Premier League champions thumped their German counterparts 3-0 to pick up where they left off last season.

Goals from Roberto Firmino, Naby Keita and Rhian Brewster did the damage for Liverpool.

But many fans were left praising the performance of debutant Kostas Tsimikas.

The former Olympiacos left-back joined Liverpool in an £11.75 million deal earlier this month.

And some fans of the Anfield club were all left claiming that it looks to be an absolute steal, based on his debut. Here’s how they reacted on Twitter:

Is Tsimikas a bargain? Well it’s obvious that paying less than £12 million for a 24-year-old defender of this quality is a decent bit of business.

That being said, this was only a meaningless pre-season friendly against a team who were playing in the second tier of German football last season.

Even then, he only played 45 minutes and much more evidence is needed to see how much of a ‘steal’ he really is.
