‘Better than Grealish, special player’: Some Liverpool fans laud 18-year-old’s display v Burnley

Jurgen Klopp made a big and brave decision as Liverpool boss this afternoon.

The Reds hosted Burnley at Anfield and Klopp selected 18-year-old Harvey Elliott to start in midfield.

This was the youngest’s full Premier League debut for Liverpool after dazzling on loan with Blackburn Rovers last season.

And despite his inexperience, Elliott shone in a big way against the Clarets.

The occasion didn’t seem to frighten the player one bit and Klopp will be delighted with himself for taking the decision to play him.

Downside

If there is a negative, it’s that Elliott might’ve been a bit too good.

The problem is, a lot of Liverpool fans want a replacement for Georginino Wijnaldum in midfield and as of yet nobody has come in, despite a lot of speculation.

And a performance like this is going to make the Anfield side a lot more reluctant to drop millions on an alternative while players like Elliott are there.
