Some Leicester City fans have reacted on Twitter to Brendan Rodgers publicly revealing that he has no interest in becoming Tottenham Hotspur’s next manager.
Rodgers was reportedly on Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy’s shortlist of long-term Jose Mourinho replacements.
But the Leicester boss revealed to Sky Sports on Tuesday that he has ‘no interest’ in replacing Mourinho at Spurs.
Rodgers’s side have a seven-point cushion in the Champions League qualification places and Tottenham are back in seventh, five points adrift of a top-four spot.
Here’s how fans of the King Power Stadium club reacted to Rodgers’s comments:
Tottenham are undeniably a bigger club than Leicester.
But for now, staying put makes total sense for the former Celtic manager.
Barring a huge collapse, they’re going to be mixing it with Europe’s elite next season and at the moment it looks very probable that the Lilywhites will be back in the Europa League for another year.
Rodgers’s comments are a blow for the North Londoners because Jesse Marsch has also snubbed them.
Tottenham wanted the American coach but he has joined Red Bull Leipzig as Julian Nagelsmann’s replacement, with Nagelsmann himself also linked with a move to Spurs but he has chosen Bayern Munich instead.
