Middlesbrough have won the race to sign Jordan Hugill.

Middlesbrough completed the signing of Jordan Hugill on loan from West Ham yesterday.
Hugill signs as a replacement for Patrick Bamford, who was sold to Leeds United at the end of last month.
Leeds had been linked with a move for Jordan Hugill before Middlesbrough entered the race.
The Sun reported in early January that the Whites wanted to sign Hugill on loan.
Leeds’ acquisition of Bamford erased their need for the striker and created a void for him to fill at Middlesbrough.

Hugill is a target man and better suited for Boro boss Tony Pulis’ style of football.
He was born in Middlesbrough and so could not have asked for a better switch after his forgettable spell at West Ham where he was never given a chance.
Leeds fans are convinced they have got the better deal, and are glad they signed Bamford instead of bringing in Hugill.
Here is a look at how Leeds fans reacted on Twitter to Hugill’s move…
