Leeds United have signed Jamal Blackman on loan from Chelsea.

Jamal Blackman #46 of Chelsea warms up before the match against the New York Red Bulls during the International Champions Cup at Red Bull Arena on July 22, 2015 in Harrison, New Jersey.

Leeds United have appointed Marcelo Bielsa as their new head coach and are planning to launch a challenge for the Championship playoffs next season.

However, the West Yorkshire outfit have not been very active in the summer transfer window, at least not when it comes to signing new players.

While Leeds have offloaded the likes of Andy Lonergan, Felix Wiedwald and Marcus Antonsson, the Championship club have signed only two players for the first team – both on loans.

The Whites signed 23-year-old midfielder Lewis Baker on a season-long loan deal from Premier League club Chelsea on June 30, 2018.

It was only on Monday that the Whites made another signing, and that too on loan, bringing 24-year-old goalkeeper Jamal Blackman from Chelsea.

Ahead of making the announcement on Monday, Leeds tried to make light of the fact that they have not been very active in the summer transfer window on social networking site Twitter, but some fans of the club did not find that funny and have criticised it.
